Things not directly pertaining to design or Illustration, but catch my eye.

Parenting fail

These parents are lying to their children. Unless they’re trying to make a Jabba snowman… Even then, it could be better.

How Ligatures are made

I always knew that little elves created ligatures!

Admittedly, I know nothing about this image. Originally viewed on ffffound.

BLUE SASQUATCH!

A music video starring Jon Hamm and a blue puppet sasquatch? I’m there. “Tell me something I don’t know” by Herman Dune.

Daydreamin’

about camping trips and riding my bike outdoors! Come on spring, let’s make this happen.

Stock image tragedy

When I ran across this, the ONLY thing that comes to mind – this is terrible – is: “Tragedy has struck at the local college. During commencement ceremonies this afternoon, a bomb blast went off. Luckily no one was seriously injured. A mysterious car was seen fleeing the scene. An investigation is under way.”

No glasses 3D? No thank you.

First, you have to watch the video.

Did you watch it? Now, imagine an entire movie theater filed with people using this device. HORRIFYING ISN’T IT?! On the upside, maybe your eyelids will become crazy muscular.

My dad the spaceman

All these years, Tommy felt his mom was lying to him. I mean, come on, “You’re dad’s an astronaut” isn’t the most believable story.

Any Interest

For a little while I’ve been sitting on this design, not knowing what to do with it. Thought I’d put out the idea of doing an art print and a run of T-shirts to see how much interest we could generate.

Shirts will be on light blue American Apparel fine jersey short sleeve T and cost $25.

Prints will be on Berrylicious Pop-Tone by French Paper Company. Size 18×24. I’m hoping to do screen prints, once I find a reliable source in Chicago. Price $15

If truly interested please email me or make a comment here on what you’d like to order, how many and what size. If there is enough interest, I’ll start the printing process!

Cheers.

YES!

I remember seeing Ghostbusters at the drive-in theater. Laying on my stomach in the makeshift bed in the back of our station wagon, I remember glaring up as the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man caused mass hysteria in the streets of New York City.

Twenty five years have passed and now we too can take our revenge on Mr Stay Puft much like the Ghostbusters did…. minus the proton packs and the demons and the size of Stay Puft…. Just check these out. The packaging sounds incredible and so does the product. Caffeinated marshmallows? Like enough caffeine to be the equivalent to a shot of espresso? Yes please.

Death

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated with really old cemeteries. Just a couple of months ago I had the pleasure of going to the historic Sleepy Hollow Cemetery and it was incredible.

That being said, I have also held to the fact that these large plots of real estate are a huge waste of resources. What happened to the days when people were burned as a ritual of returning the body back to dust and absorbing back into the earth? That’s what I’ve asked my family to do when I die.

Since most people/religions believe in burying the departed, this is a clever space saving alternative the the traditional coffin. Original post can be found here.
